I knew Tim was cooking up something good for a birthday present for me (it's next week), and I so did not want to find out.

But I did.

He really did well.....he knows that the one concert I have always wanted to go to but have not yet is Madonna. So, he got us tickets for the July show in Boston! I am incredibly excited and proud of him for nailing the b-day present, but, man, why did I have to find out?

I am home from work today to do chores and prep for Aidan's birthday party and I was paying bills. What was the first charge on the credit card that caught my eye? TM Madonna. Well, clearly, I know what that is! I am not going to let on at all, because he would be crushed.

It's funny, because we were on the same wavelength with presents....Tim's birthday was Monday and I got us tickets to see George Carlin in Hampton and we will stay overnight in Portsmouth. We were both thinking entertainment as a theme. Guess we both know we need some quality date nights!

Cool on the show - I bet she's incredible live.

Tim (and you) clearly needs a credit card that is for surprises that only he pays. Do y'all not have any separate cards? We rarely (if ever) use ours but they're still there for things like this.

We put EVERYTHING on one account that we share. In fact, we got effed this weekend...I used the card to fill my tank on Friday AM last week and it was fine, when Tim tried later that day the card was rejected. When we called on Saturday AM to see what was up, we found out the account was cancelled due to suspicion of fraudulent activity. (I was kind of ticked they didn't give us the heads up, but, that's another story.)

Anyway, we had no cards to use and we literally put everything on the card for points and for convenience. Our ATM cards had expired, too, so we could not use them as debit cards...we had to take cash out for all of our weekend purchases. I felt like I was living in the dark ages!

But, yeah, you are right--we should totally have separate cards for this exact reason--the surprise factor!!

I have a feeling it will be one of the best live shows I ever see. I am not as into her new music as I was her older stuff, but I really don't's the experience!

Me too. I can't believe I have been a fan for more than 20 years. I really am old.

Ugh, we've just dated ourselves. I can remember being in 1st or 2nd grade, and my friend and I lip syncing to "Lucky Star" in her driveway.

Borderline for me. Lip synching with a hairbrush with a friend in my grandma's house.

NICE!!! I love Madonna. Too bad you figured the surprise out. It seems like I'm always doing that to. But hey, it's not a bad surprise at all!
